Rocío Azarloza was born and raised in Buenos Aires, Argentina. She received her BA in Image and Sound Design from Universidad de Buenos Aires in 2011 and her MFA in studio in 2016 from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, Photography department. She is currently living and working in Berkeley, CA.

Her work explores the built environment: the form and materials that compose it as well as the ideas that they embody. Working in photography as well as video and sculpture, she seeks to create images that are more than records of something in the world; they embody the questions that drive her projects. That is why she creates work that -as the subjects- mutate and decay thought time.
